Bill Maher Slams Identity Politics In Awesome Rant

Bill Maher is done with identity politics.

Maher has continued to be a very strong voice on the left when it comes to common sense and making decisions logically and rationally - not emotionally.

He's also a strong supporter of free speech, which seems like a dying breed these days, unfortunately. Whether you agree with him or disagree with him, it's good to see Maher often disagree with his own side.

He's done it, once again, and he took aim at identity politics on the Friday episode of "Real Time with Bill Maher."

Bill Maher torches identity politics.

"I think now more than ever we need to stop talking about the things that make Americans different from each other, and start honoring the things that make us the same. So, let my people - the Irish - lead the way because, again, I don't give a sh*t. I do give a sh*t about who wins the next election. And outdated racial pandering is one reason Democrats lose elections. When Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi put on Kente cloth, I don’t think it earned them one vote for their powerful emotional ties to Ghana. Here in California, we’re now segregating kidnapping. Really. California doesn’t just have AMBER alerts for missing children. We have ‘Ebony alerts’ for black children and ‘feather’ alerts for Native American kids. What is that? You look for them by listening on the ground," Maher said during his anti-identity politics rant.

He also pointed out that the entire idea of identity politics is "antiquated" because society has become incredibly accepting when it comes to different groups coming together.

Maher is 100% correct when it comes to the insanity of identity politics and the fact people align with others simply based on the color of their skin or other characteristics they can't control. As I've often argued, the only diversity that really matters is diversity of thought.

People should be encouraged to be independent thinkers, and people should really be encouraged to embrace in debate. Healthy debate is a sign of a free and strong society.

Unfortunately, some in America disagree, and they lean heavily into identity politics. Nancy Pelosi taking a knee wearing a Kente cloth was absolutely mind-boggling. What was she trying to prove? As Maher pointed out, why are AMBER alerts now segregated by race in California?

Props to Bill Maher for continuing to speak out against liberal insanity. Stop leaning into identity politics, think for yourself, have healthy disagreements and be respectful. It's not hard. Let me know what you think at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
