Big Al Of 'I Hit Dingers' Fame Is Back & Still Drilling Dingers

Do you remember the legend of Big Al, the Little League whole stole our hearts in 2018 when he told ESPN that he hits dingers?

Of course you do. It's impossible to not know about the kid who made himself an Internet legend with one line that is burnt into our brains.

That little boy is all grown up now. He's a senior at Red Bank Catholic in New Jersey and, you guessed it, he's still hitting dingers. Monday, in dramatic fashion, Al stepped to the plate on Opening Day of his senior season, and jacked a bomb to dead center in front of the home crowd during a 7-2 win over Rumson-Fair Haven.

It was Big Al's very first varsity home run.

And in a plot twist, Big Al didn't grow up to be the big boy playing first base, talking to the baserunners like he's running for mayor and throwing keggers at his parents house while they're away in Fort Lauderdale.

Big Al grew up to be a second baseman! Look at Big Al. He's lanky, quick on his feet and he's not even that big.

Don't take my word for it, just ask Big Al.

"They don't even call me that anymore. I'm not that big," Al told Jersey Sports Zone after his Monday afternoon performance.

If you don't think those dingers still mean something to Big Al after hammering so many, watch how he touches home plate after his first varsity bomb. Look at that cleat stomping on home plate.

Big Al still has that fire in his belly. Never lose the drive. Be like Big Al.
