Couple In Chicago Sends Out $240 Invoice To Guests Who Don’t Properly Reply To Wedding Invite

Videos by OutKick

Weddings are completely out of control in 2021, despite the fact that life is still not exactly normal as people fight for their lives battling COVID-19 and other diseases.

It’s a special day, we get it, but the following story might just take the cake.

Turns out a couple booked their reception in Jamaica, and unfortunately, a lot of their invited guests didn’t respond.

At all. As in, they didn’t RSVP to the reception.

The newlyweds, celebrating their wedding bliss, decided that this was unfair, so they sent non-responders AN INVOICE worth $240:

“This invoice is being sent to you because you confirmed seat(s) at the wedding reception during the Final Headcount. The amount above is the cost of your individual seats. Because you didn’t call or give us proper notice that you wouldn’t be in attendance, this amount is what you owe us for paying for your seat(s) in advance.”

Whether the bride and groom are justified in charging guests has become a hot topic on social media, and more than 1,000 comments have been left on the original tweet, along with close to 9,000 likes.

Now the interesting question is – did anyone who got an invoice actually pay it?
