Could The Bills Be A Match For Veteran Free Agent DE J.J. Watt?

The Buffalo Bills are an up and coming teams in the AFC that many think are ready to turn the corner and get back to the Super Bowl in February of 2022.

They have a young quarterback, Josh Allen who is a star in the making, some other solid playmakers on offense, and a young, aggressive defense that will have to be dealt with by teams around the NFL.

So it only makes sense that a huge free agent like former Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt, who wants to play for a contender, may wind up in Buffalo in 2021.

It's being reported that as many as 12 teams are interested in Watt, but the veteran wants to go somewhere where he can potentially win a Super Bowl.

Many felt he would end up in Pittsburgh with his brother T.J., but those rumors have died down. Then earlier this week, Cleveland emerged as a potential front runner, but as of now, nothing has come of that either.

ESPN’s Kimberley A. Martin reported on the Bills' interest in Watt, which is not a shock considering the shot in the arm he would give to Buffalo's defense.

The Bills have spent plenty to try and upgrade their defense over the last few seasons. Their defensive line boasts the likes of Jerry Hughes, Vernon Butler and Ed Oliver.

Putting Watt in that mix would only make the Bills better. Last season, their defense was right in the middle of the pack. They were 16th in the NFL in points given up, allowing 23.4 points per game.

It sounds like the Watt saga is going to drag on for a while before the veteran finally decides where he wants his career to continue, but he could do a lot worse than Buffalo.
