College World Series Set, Here Is Who's In

Mississippi State beat Notre Dame 11-7 on Monday evening to punch the final ticket to the College World Series.

The Omaha 8 are set: NC State will face Stanford on Saturday at 2 p.m. to kick off the College World Series in Omaha, followed by the game between Arizona and Vanderbilt at 7 p.m. Virginia and Tennessee will meet at 2 p.m. on Sunday, followed by Mississippi State and Texas at 7 p.m.

NC STATE

Before NC State, no team had ever advanced to the CWS after losing Game One of the Super Regional by 15 runs or more — but NC State lost Game One 21-2, and now they are heading to Omaha after defeating No. 1 Arkansas.

The Wolfpack is headed to Omaha for the first time since 2013.

STANFORD

Stanford shut down Texas Tech to punch a ticket to the College World Series for the 17th time in program history and the first time since 2008.

ARIZONA

The Arizona Wildcats head to Omaha for the 18th time in program history after the Wildcats beat Ole Miss in the Super Regional.

VANDERBILT

Vanderbilt was the first team to punch a ticket to Omaha after knocking off ECU in the Nashville Super Regional. The Commodores are still the reigning College World Series Champions from 2019, as there was no 2020 CWS due to the pandemic.

TENNESSEE

Tennessee beat LSU to win the Knoxville Super Regional and is headed to Omaha for the first time since 2005. The Vols hit six home runs and set a new program record for HRs in an NCAA Tournament game on their road to Omaha.

VIRGINIA

To punch their ticket to Omaha, Virginia ended DBU's historic season. With the win, the Cavaliers are now 6-0 in elimination games and have clinched the program’s fifth trip to the College World Series.

MISSISSIPPI STATE

Mississippi State set a record during the Super Regionals with the largest three-game series crowd in NCAA history with 40,140 fans in attendance during the series against Notre Dame.

The Bulldogs will mark their third appearance in the College World Series as they head to Omaha to face Texas on Sunday.

The team tweeted just days before the NCAA record for the largest Super Regional crowd in history set with Saturday's 14,385 in attendance.







TEXAS

No. 2 Texas dominated South Florida 12-4 on Sunday in the Super Regional and completed a two-game sweep of USF to advance to the CWS for the 37th time in program history.
