We can’t call this “quitting” at Duke since he still has a season to coach, but it also could mean Coach K is finally eyeing an NBA head coaching gig. And Boston is a solid place to be, as crazy as this sounds.
They have great young talent with Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, and more importantly, a ton of draft capital. This may appeal to the 74-year-old Duke head coach because they can get aggressive on the trade market to build a winner — fast.
The basketball world is shocked to see Coach K go, and tweets are flying in for the five-time national champion.

With all the Zion stuff going on anyone else think a potential visit from the Overland Park, KS Boogeyman might have something to do with this?
The guy will be 74 after next season. He ain’t going to the NBA, he’s going to the beach.
Yessir. It was a hell of a run for Coach K. He beat my UNLV Runnin’ Reb’s and my Arizona Wildcats to rob me of two National Championships I could have celebrated.
Beat me to it. Heβs not going to the NBA at his age, unless itβs to replace the commissioner and right the ship the way he helped Team USA Basketball get over its bout with hubris.
