Illinois Congressional Rep. Sean Casten (D.), who calls himself a “climate nerd” in his Twitter bio, stepped onto the floor and dropped a Black Eyed Peas remix dedicated to climate activist Fergie. Rep. Casten used his time on the floor to ramble on about air conditioning, climate change, zero carbon, etc.
🚨🔥I just dropped a new #HotFERCSummer jam! As climate activist @Fergie would say, the FERCalicious definition is to make our planet cooler.
Coming home to air conditioning when it’s “hot-hot”? That’s FERCalicious. Cleaner, cheaper electricity for every American? #FERCalicious. pic.twitter.com/4W833SVouj

This isn’t the first time Casten has remixed a song for his Federal Energy Regulatory Commission gig. On July 20, the Congressman paid tribute to Megan Thee Stallion whose “Hot Girl Summer” goes a little something like this:
Real, real ass b—h, give a fuck ’bout a ni–a
Hot Barbie summer
(What Juicy say? He be like, “Shut the f–k up”)
Real, real, real ass b—h, give a fuck ’bout a ni–a
(Don’t run from me, friend, haha)
It is what it is, this some five star d–k
She a big ol’ freak, it’s a must that I hit
It’s a Hot Girl Summer, so you know she got it lit
Real ass b—h, know she got it lit
Hot Girl Summer so you know she got it lit, yeah
Real ass b—h, know she got it lit
Hot Girl Summer so you know she got it lit, yeah, yeah (hey, hey, hey, look)
And Sean’s paid to do this work about climate change while his girl Megan Thee Stallion enjoys life in private jets, living in a massive house suckin’ down energy & generally not giving two s–ts about the climate.
His other climate change hero, Fergie, is also quite the hero. “The best thing about fame is flying on a private jet, as I don’t have to go through security or wait at a regular airport. I love it – I’m not going to lie,” the singer once said.
Once again, a do-nothing, look-at-me Congressman putting on a show instead of doing actual work. Great job, Congressman. Enjoy your paycheck this week.
Today, I declared the start of #HotFERCSummer. Why? Well, to paraphrase @theestallion — because now that @FERC has put in all that work, it’s time for them to be the MVP. pic.twitter.com/cVafObTvWR
