Clay on Trevor Lawrence Zoom Gaffe: Imagine If Male Reporter Commented On A Female’s Appearance

A female reporter forgot to mute her Zoom when ripping the mustache of Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence on Friday night. That much you may already know. You may also know it seems to be have been brushed aside by the Twitter-verse.

But OutKick’s Clay Travis wonders if everyone would still be fine with it the roles were reversed.

“A female journalist ripped Trevor Lawrence for his mustache. And everyone laughed it off. Imagine the reaction if a male journalist rips a female athlete for her appearance,” Travis tweeted. “He probably never works again. And we get a 1000 woke think pieces on it too.”

Lawrence and Clemson were coming off a hammer job of a 49-28 loss in the College Football Playoff semifinals. Lawrence was solid, even good, but his offensive line was not. He is still highly likely to be the Jacksonville Jaguars’ pick at No. 1 overall in the NFL draft.

Travis did agree with the idea that Lawrence could use a shave.

“It is, however, a ridiculous mustache,” Travis tweeted.

    • Yep. The same teachers who are SUING to stop schools from reopening unless the states first close charter schools. Because, yeah, the charter schools have anything to do with COVID …

    • 100% agree. The doing “god’s work” varnish (bullshit) has been stripped clean. The Textbook Mafia continues to crush kids and does not give two fucks about it., so just keep paying your taxes to fund this criminal enterprise.

      • It brings up a good point about the feel good, public service commercials you see on ESPN. You can usually presume that whatever narrative they’re spinning is the opposite of what’s really happening. Two cases in point:

Let’s praise America’s teachers – In some counties (like mine) they 100% deserve to be praised, my son has been in 2 day per week school since August and they bumped that up to 4 days per week about 2 months ago. Outstanding response from our local teachers/administrators and not surprisingly there has been NO groundswell of positive cases. In the larger NC Counties, the teacher’s unions are fighting WW3 to stay out of the class rooms, my Niece gets less than 15 minutes of actual instruction each week from her teacher. Its looking like she’ll have to repeat her grade, while her teachers spend 80% of their time on Facebook and twitter bitching about how terrible the world is.

Then you have Lebaron James and his “Smile on your brother everybody come together” message. Which is great, unless you are one of those terrible people who vote Republican or take Judeo Christian Values seriously. In which case let’s not come together, let’s verbally harass and physically threaten you in public, endlessly deride you on social media, and whenever possible let’s discriminate against you in the workplace, hopefully getting you fired and destroying your livelihood. So much brotherly love, I can hardly stand it.
