Clay Discusses ‘Dumbest Idea For a Protest Involving Sports’ That He’s Ever Heard

People protest a lot of dumb stuff nowadays. Sure, some of it is honorable and respectable, but people have gotten way out of hand with it. I’m sure if we all sat around and shared dumb things we’ve seen protested, there would be some doozies.

In the world of sports, however, OutKick founder Clay Travis may have found the ultimate trump card.

During his radio show OutKick the Coverage on Tuesday, Clay shared what he described as the “singularly dumbest idea for a protest involving sports that I’ve ever heard of.” Seems bold, right? Well, wait until you hear it … you’ll understand.

A civil rights group is calling for the Masters to move the event from Augusta National in order to protest Georgia’s new voting law. Yes, folks, you read that correctly. Instead of simply telling you how idiotic that idea is, I’ll just let Clay do it.

“The stupidity is off the charts,” Clay said during the show. “They said the Masters should be moved out of Georgia. Do you think that they understood that the Masters is only in Georgia, and if they played it anywhere else, it would not actually be the Masters? Did they think that it’s like the US Open or the PGA or the British Open where it changes from a year-to-year basis?

“This is one of the dumbest boycott arguments I’ve ever seen — maybe the dumbest.”

It’s impossible not to laugh during the segment. The fact that we’re even having this discussion is insane. I don’t know who gave the green light to this idea, but man does it set up some great content from Clay.

What do you think? I’ve been racking my brain trying to think of something that could rival it, but I’ve got nothing.

  1. Instead of responding, the Masters should just ignore – which seems to be the approach other companies in Georgia are taking. The woke mob will simply forget about it and move on to the next thing that outrages them.

      • I agree with your points. I was thinking about democrats and the media going after Goya foods, and their CEO did the right thing, he just ignored it and moved on. And Goya continues to do just fine. These left wing lunatics on twitter must wake up everyday looking for something to be outraged at.

So if they are outraged by a Georgia piece of legislation that adds to the number of early voting days and requires an ID when requesting an absentee ballot and secures ballot drop boxes, then let them vent their fake outrage on twitter and ignore them. They are like little children who stomp their feet when they don’t extra ice cream for dessert. As you said, within a few days, they will move onto some other lunatic outrage.

  2. Agree with everyone. Ignore these jackasses and it goes away. Chuck is right, the CEO of Goya did the right thing and, incidentally, has more balls than all the other corporate cowards combined.
