Major Carole Baskin Husband Clue: 'I'll Put You in Grinder'
Trish Farr-Payne, ex-wife of former Baskin and Lewis employee, Kenny Farr, sat down with Richard Schlesinger for the 48 Hours series Suspicion. In a transcribed preview, Payne alleges details connecting her husband to the disappearance of Carole Baskin's husband, Don Lewis.
Joe Exotic, the Tiger King superstar, has claimed Baskin killed her husband and fed him to tigers. Baskin strongly denies and is not a person of interest in Lewis' disappearance.
Per CBS:
Payne tells Schlesinger she didn't ask what "Don is gone" meant because her ex-husband would "blow up real easy."
Two days later, Baskin officially reported Lewis missing.
"Everything started kinda coming together. Kenny's got Don's van. Kenny's got Don's guns. Don's gone and I knew Don was gone the day before he was supposedly missing. It — something wasn't right," Payne explained.
When Payne eventually brought it up to her then-husband, he cryptically responded, "don't ask me questions that you don't want the answers to."
Bizarrely, Payne said around the same time, a large freezer with a padlock appeared on their porch; it soon vanished.
"How long after Don disappeared did the freezer disappear?" asked Schlesinger.
Trish Farr-Payne replied, "about a week after Don disappeared,"
According to Payne, during an argument, Farr threatened her life and gave away a major clue.
"Kenny had threatened to put me in a grinder, he said, 'If you try to leave me again, I'm gonna put you in the grinder, like I did Don.'"
A "meat grinder," she clarified.
CBS adds the sheriff's office has had no comment and stated there are currently no suspects or persons of interest in Don Lewis' disappearance. 48 Hours Suspicion has been unable to reach Kenny Farr.
As of now, these are all allegations. That said, this outlandish story just got more ludicrous. All of it. The characters, the tigers, the statements, the interviews, the recorded scenes, the conspiracies, and the mysteries.
Might as well ask: did Carole Baskin do it?
