Canadian Package Thief Runs Into Trouble In His Getaway Car

Let's go to Mississauga, Ontario, where a package thief was caught in the act and went scurrying to his mini Toyota Yaris -- or whatever that tiny ride is -- and proceeded to get the car stuck on a snowbank. There are a few lessons here for the 33-year-old Brampton, Ont. man arrested by the Peel Regional Police:

The loser thief has been charged with one count of fraud under $5,000 and one count of theft under $5,000 (CDN), according to CTV News.

In the original Reddit video, the homeowner can be heard offering advice to the thief about how to get the Toyota out of the snowbank. It's one of those Canadian nice guy moments that we've all come to appreciate. Then the cops showed up, and they weren't so nice. Dirtball thief guy decided he didn't want to get with the program, so the cops yanked him out into the snowbank before his trip to the city jail.

Now that you've watched the video, let's think about this for a minute. Why didn't he flee on foot? Is it because the Yaris belonged to his parents and he didn't want to get home, be out of breath and be questioned by his mother over what happened to the car? Did he stay to limit the charges?

At one point the guy recording drops the best line -- so far -- of 2021.

"You want me to get you a shovel?" he asks. Absolutely nailed it.
