Cam Newton is Going to New England Patriots

Cam Newton has reached an agreement with the New England Patriots, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. It's a one-year, incentive-laden deal, the report adds.

The deal is worth up to $7.5 million, per Ian Rapoport.

This is quite a surprise. The Patriots seemed determined to go into the season with the lackluster QB crew of Jarrett Stidham and Brian Hoyer. If healthy, Newton is clearly the best option.

This upcoming NFL season is jampacked with fascinating storylines. And Newton, with Bill Belichick, on this Patriots team, is already near the top of the list.
