Caitlyn Jenner Running For Governor Of California ... As A Republican

Caitlyn Jenner has filed paperwork to take on Democrat Gavin Newsom for governor of California. Yes, Jenner is a Republican. Has been for some time.

Jenner, 71, will be among those running against Newsom in the event a recall election happens this year. Jenner, a former Olympic gold-medalist, even has a website for the campaign right here.

"California has been my home for nearly 50 years. I came here because I knew that anyone, regardless of their background or station in life, could turn their dreams into reality," Jenner wrote. "But for the past decade, we have seen the glimmer of the Golden State reduced by one-party rule that places politics over progress and special interests over people. Sacramento needs an honest leader with a clear vision.”

According to a Twitter response to Inside California Politics, Jenner claims to be a "fiscal conservative and socially liberal candidate."

Newsom has come under fire by both parties for his poor handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to the talk of a recall election.
