Browns Fan Betty White Turns 99 On Day Of Biggest Game In Years

All Betty White wants for her birthday is another Cleveland Browns victory. Actually, the comedian/actress never said that, but she indeed at least played a fervent Browns fan on television, and Sunday is indeed her 99th birthday.

Sunday also happens to be the day the Browns face the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs as they look to pull off another playoff stunner.

It's hard to know why White might root for the Browns, but she has made it clear in the past that she always does. Perhaps a little strange, considering White is a native of Beverly Hills, Calif., and has no real ties to Cleveland. (Aside, of course, from her playing a starring role in the TV Land sitcom, "Hot in Cleveland," which was actually shot in LA.)

Perhaps White developed her affinity for the Browns when they were winning all those NFL championships many years ago (1950, '54-55, and '64) and she just jumped on the bandwagon. After all, she was only in her 30s and 40s back then.

Today, she is only 99. And while she has yet to specifically mention the Browns, she did give a hint on how she plans to spend her birthday in an email to The Associated Press. She plans to spend it like any other young person would. "Since I am turning 99, I can stay up as late as I want without asking permission!" she wrote.

Courtesy of last week's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Browns are in the second round of the playoffs for the first time since 1994.
