Brooks Koepka Is Really Roughing It On Vacation In Tulum

After struggling, by his standards, through 2020 with a withdrawal from the U.S. Open, a T-29 at the PGA Championship, a tie for seventh at the Masters and falling from the world's No. 1 golfer at the end of 2019 all the way to 12th, Brooks Koepka was due for some rest and relaxation to get right heading into the 2021 season.

These days, there aren't many places that are better for getting R&R than Tulum (I've watched enough Instagram model and Dan Bilzerian videos to know Tulum is a hot vacation spot), and that's exactly what Brooks, girlfriend Jena Sims, their chef, and Brooks' caddie did over the weekend. Recharge the batteries. Eat some grapes. Work on the sand game. Get loaded. Blow some cash saved up during COVID.

This is exactly how I'd draw up a vacation if kids and work weren't in the way of things. Of course, I'd be flying Spirit, paying $200 for luggage, $9 for the flight, and not able to get a drink on the way to Cancun, only to have a two-hour or so van ride through military checkpoints before arriving in Tulum. I'm sure Brooks and his crew had quite a challenge flying into Tulum International and jumping on a five-minute struggle bus over to their 5-star resort.

Before I forget, it's good to see Brooks not trying to get all jacked for a half-naked ESPN the Magazine shoot. Mother Nature is bringing Brooks back to the normal guy, crushed a few draft beers last night look.

The next time you see Brooks and the tour regulars on a golf course should be Jan. 7-10 at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Maui.
