Cornerman Asks His Fighter If He Has Money On Fight

If you thought the Daniel Jacobs vs. Gabriel Rosado was rather boring and the action seemed low energy, you weren't the only one. One of Jacobs' cornermen was heard asking his boxer a big time question as the fight unfolded.

"Did you bet money on this fight?" the cornerman is heard asking Jacobs. "Nooo," Jacobs responds. "I'm just trying to figure it out," the cornerman counters. Jacobs entered the fight -1600 on the moneyline; Rosado was +900.

Ultimately, Jacobs won the split decision with judges scoring it 115-113, 115-113 and 113-115, but the weirdness surrounding this fight wasn't over yet. Ring announcer Jeremiah Gallegos announced the winner was "from Philadelphia," which is where Rosado fights out of, making the fight loser think he had won the bout before things were corrected and Jacobs was raising his fist.

"Yo! I felt I won the fight," Rosado said to DAZN reporter Chris Mannix. "I surprised him. I outboxed him, I out-jabbed him, I countered him, I made him miss big shots."

Rosado isn't the only one who thought he outboxed Jacobs. The cornerman was thinking the same exact thing. In the end, it was just another night from the shady world of boxing. It wouldn't be Friday night fights without some drama.

"I still feel like there's more to me that hasn't been yet seen, but this wasn't a valiant effort from myself," Jacobs told Mannix after the fight. "It felt kind of dry (without fans in attendance). It just felt a little weird. It felt like a boxing, sparring match inside the gym. I didn't give my best effort, but my effort was enough to get the victory."

And if you think that audio has been doctored, here's another longer version of the conversation:
