Not even Bill Maher can keep up with cancel culture these days. And even the liberal political commentator wants it to end.
“Cancel culture is real, it’s insane, and it’s growing exponentially, and it’s coming to neighborhood near you” Maher said on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher. “If you think it’s just for celebrities … no. In an era where everyone is online, everyone is a public figure.”
Maher wasn’t finished.
“Is this really who we want to become — a society of phony clenched-asshole avatars, walking on eggshells, looking over your shoulder about getting ratted out for something that actually has nothing to do with your character or morals?” Maher asked. “Think about everything you’ve ever texted, emailed, searched for, tweeted, blogged or said in passing.”
As Maher went on to say, all of it could get you “cancelled,” and it may have nothing to do with who you are or what you really believe. He also shared a poll that indicated 62 percent of Americans have political views that they’re afraid to share.
Why? Because those Americans likely feel their political opinions aren’t worth hassle, or worth running the risk of losing their jobs by being cancelled.
“All (races of Americans) hate the current atmosphere of hyper-sensitivity,” Maher said. “Yet everybody hates it, and not one stands up to it.”
Maher’s comments can be viewed in a tweet entitled, “Memo to social Justice warriors: when what you’re doing sounds like an Onion headline, stop.” View it in its entirety below. We don’t say this about Maher often, but this time, he’s well worth the watch.
Wow! Who is this guy and what did they do with Bill Maher? Looks like someone who`s had enough of his own team`s bullshit. I actually agree with him on something……..weird. Sad to say, it`s probably going to take a few more of these lefties turning on their mob before things start to get better.

In regards to his cancel comments he also said people evolve. Exactly. Most of us did and said some serious stupid shit years ago. This current FN insanity has to be called out. Maher is at least perceptive enough to know that Cancel Culture will come for him after they’ve gotten rid of conservatives. He’s an extreme leftist ideological hack but he’s not stupid.

Bill Maher will be cancelled the second after Joe Biden is cancelled for eulogizing Bobbie Byrd, as soon as Bill Clinton and Hillary are cancelled for having Bobbie Byrd as a mentor. Right after Obama is cancelled for saying, “If they bring a knife, we bring a gun”. Is everyone clear on how cancel culture works? There will be an ugly end to this vicious, vile, hate filled philosophy. Don’t hold your breath! Prepare to fight for your freedom of speech, your freedom of association and the many other freedoms that are under attack by the Communist Democrats. America Matters!
Maher is a liberal and not a leftist. One could always have a civil dialogue with him, even if disagreement is on the table. I do appreciate him calling out cancel culture and all these woke idiots

The problem that Maher doesn’t realize is in the first sentences he speaks about conservatives. His beliefs are ultimately rooted in the same post-modern relativism atheistic ground as the SJWs. He just doesn’t take the beliefs to their full manifestation, like the SJWs. But that’s why he and many like him are impotent to stop cancel culture. Because if he goes toe to toe with an SJW on canceling being wrong he has to concede the SJW’s points, and rely on a “c’mon man” argument against canceling, which is exactly this video. An impotent c’mon man response that won’t do anything.
Maher’s great. Yes, he is a liberal but he often has influential conservatives on like Ben Shapiro and debates with them respectfully and intelligently.

The Communist Democrats think they can throw “others” into the river for the crocodiles to eat and it is just plain fun to watch “others” be eaten. Of course the problem is the crocodile’s appetite is insatiable. Pretty soon there is no one to throw to the crocs and the crocs come after them.
