Bill Gates Under Fire For Creepy Emails Sent In 2007

It's been a bad month for guys who send emails, or at least used to send emails, and former Las Vegas Raiders coach Jon Gruden is the new face of the issue.

But now another tasteless typer has reportedly been uncovered, and it's no less than Microsoft CEO Bill Gates. Yeah, that annoying guy.

As reported by the Wall Street Journal, Gates sent creepy emails to a female staffer way back in 2007. But hey, that was just four years before Gruden's emails, and he had to resign.

"Microsoft executives once ordered Bill Gates to stop sending flirty emails to a female subordinate," the New York Post wrote, citing the Wall Street Journal report.

"The alleged misbehavior occurred more than a decade before the Microsoft board learned of an affair between Gates and another female employee, which preceded Gates’ divorce and resignation from the Microsoft board."

Gates reportedly met with Microsoft officials about the email in 2008, when the email was revealed. After the meeting, Microsoft did ... nothing. It cleared Gates, per the report, because he did not have contact with the employee.

But that was before cancel culture was invented. It will be interesting to see what happens now.

Gates' camp, of course, is denying any wrongdoing.

"Bridgitt Arnold, a spokesperson for Gates, did not immediately reply to a request for comment from The Post but told the Journal that the claims in Monday’s report were 'false, recycled rumors from sources who have no direct knowledge, and in some cases have significant conflicts of interest,'" the Post reported.
