Big Ten Unveils Big Friday Night Football Package This Year

This was hinted at a few weeks ago and thus should not come as a major surprise, but today the Big Ten announced a pretty big Friday night football package for this season. Here are the details (all times Eastern):

October 23: Illinois @ Wisconsin (8:00; Big Ten Network)

October 30: Minnesota @ Maryland (7:30; ESPN)

November 13: Iowa @ Minnesota (7:00; FS1)

November 20: Purdue @ Minnesota (TBD; BTN)

November 27: Nebraska @ Iowa (TBD; Fox or FS1)

The conference has played on a smattering of Friday nights in the past, defying the objections of people who believe that this evening should be reserved for high school football only. But considering the limited availability that Fox and ESPN/ABC now have on Saturdays, this package is necessary.

The conference also announced the following Week 1 schedule and that Michigan-Ohio State will be on December 12th at noon on Fox:
