'Big Baby' Davis Among 18 Former NBA Players Charged With Fraud

NBC's Tom Winter is reporting that 18 former NBA players have been arrested and charged federally for defrauding the NBA's Health and Welfare Benefit Plan. Among the charged? Glen "Big Baby" Davis because of course.

Anyone who watched the NBA from 2005-2012 won't have a surprised bone in their body to see Big Baby involved. Not that we enjoy judging books by their covers, but this list of players fit the mold of athletes that would do something this idiotic.

- Milt Palacio

- Sebastian Telfair

- Antoine Wright

- Darius Miles

- Ruben Patterson

- Eddie Robinson

- Gregory Smith

- Glen Davis

- Jamario Moon

- Terrence Williams

- Alan Anderson

- Tony Allen

- Shannon Brown

- William Bynum

- Melvin Ely

- Christopher Douglas-Roberts

- Tony Wroten

Some recognizable names here. Tony Allen, whom the late Kobe Bryant described as "the best defensive player he's ever played against," and Shannon Brown, who was known as a high flyer in his short stint with the Lakers. But the mother load has to be Glen Davis. Talk about being in the running for the sketchiest NBA player who ever graced the league. Licking blood that dripped off his face, licking the basketball routinely mid-game, and then famously winning the 2008 NBA Finals celebrating by eating chicken nuggets with $92,000 in cash on his lap on a private jet.

We're sad to see Jamario Moon, Darius Miles, and Sebastian Telfair involved here when most of us haven't heard their names in a while. Always sucks to be reminded of former players in a negative light.

NBC's Tom Winter also reports that 16 of the 18 are already in federal custody and that the two currently on the loose remain unnamed. The group, in total, allegedly scammed the league out of $4 million. That's a lot of dough. They should have some money left from their playing days, so it's likely plea agreements go down. We'll keep a close eye on this one.
