Bidder Of Rare $760,000 Signed Babe Ruth Card Speaks On Investment

The cost of vintage and rare baseball cards continues to rise, and now a bidder of a rare signed Babe Ruth card is speaking out.

The bidder is Eric Naierman, the most famous video game collector on the planet according to TMZ.

Naierman bid $760,000 on the card inked by Ruth. It's not the first time the dentist spent a lot of cash on a rare item though. Back in 2019, he spent one million on a couple rare video games.

The Ruth card that Naierman attempted to purchase was a 1933 Babe Ruth Goudey #149 card.

When it went to auction, Naierman partnered with an investment group that could get enough funds to win it.

"This is just a part of American history," Naierman said via TMZ.

"It's a part of world history, and it's one of the finest examples of the greatest faces in baseball as we know it."

"So, we probably just gonna enjoy for a while and make a business plan years down the line for it. It surreal!"

The same card sold at auction in 2020 for $325k, so the investment group paid more than double for the 1933 Ruth Goudey card, a card that is described as being in very good condition based on the age.

However, Naierman says the card and the price paid have been worth it.

"We're probably just gonna enjoy for a while and make a business plan years down the line for it. It's surreal," Naierman said.
