World Series: Game 6 Best Bets
The Astros got the series back home, now they need to work hard once again to push the series to a decisive Game 7. It was a crazy Game 5, one with the Braves hitting a grand slam, then the Astros coming back, then falling behind again, before the Astros finally breaking free completely.
Max Fried takes the ball again for the Braves. They were very fortunate to have a lead in the series because they had to resort to back-to-back bullpen games and that was not optimal for anyone. They got lucky in the one game, but after being taxed, the Astros finally broke free and started mashing the ball. In Game 2, Fried was rocked for six earned runs. Luckily, he made it five innings for the Braves as that did help them over the next two games. In the National League Championship Series, Fried pitched well the first time he faced the Dodgers and was crushed the second time. Will the inverse be true here? Will he pitch poorly the first time and get good results tonight? Fried did leave Game 2 with retiring 10 straight Astros hitters, so perhaps his opening night jitters are out of his system.
Luis Garcia only threw 3.2 innings against the Braves in his first outing, but he wasn’t that bad. He allowed three hits, and one earned run. The biggest problem I have is that he allowed four walks in those innings, so he was constantly in trouble. He’s been much more comfortable at home this season, posting a 2.39 ERA. He’s hard to believe in, but maybe he can go five innings and only allow a run or two tonight. That should put the Astros in a good situation to win. I don’t have a play on a side (I'd lean Astros), I think both teams have reason to believe they can win the game. I’m instead taking the over 8.5 runs at -120 and looking for both teams to score.
