Thanksgiving Day NFL Best Bets
I hope you are out there preparing for a great Thanksgiving and getting ready for some exciting football games this Thursday. Personally, I’m thankful for all the readers out there and hope you’ve made some money from these articles over the year. Let’s see if we can make some with the Thanksgiving Day games.
Bears vs. Lions
Ah, the yearly tradition of the Lions playing on Thanksgiving. This might be the best chance they have at winning this season. The question really comes down to if Justin Fields plays in the game. The Bears have a significantly better chance to win the game if he plays. But, let’s first take a look at this Bears team. They appear to have quit on their coach, their defense is still their strength, but it is banged up. Offensively they have very little positive going for them. The Lions, on the other hand, seem to be playing hard for each other and their coach. They tied with the Steelers on the road and competed with the Browns on the road in back-to-back games. I’m taking the Lions to win the game. I wouldn’t blame you if you took the points, and that is probably the smarter/safer play. This feels like a game that if the Bears lose maybe the message to ownership is to get rid of Matt Nagy and Ryan Pace. Lions +152.
Raiders at Dallas
This is a matchup between the last two teams that faced the Chiefs. I bring this up because I was wrong about both of those games, so proceed with caution on this play. Dallas looked rough in their last game, only scoring 9 points on a Chiefs defense that has been very accommodating to opponents. The Cowboys get a chance to bounce back against a defense that is also easy to score on in the Raiders. Amari Cooper is likely out for the game and I’m seeing that CeeDee Lamb is as well. That makes the task a lot harder. The status of Ezekiel Elliot, or even how effective he will be if he plays is somewhat up in the air. But, I don’t trust the Raiders, even with extra points. They’ve lost their last three games by at least seven points. I’m taking the Cowboys -7 at -110.
Bills at Saints
The big news out of New Orleans is the contract they gave to Taysom Hill. With moves like that, are you willing to bet on the Saints to do anything? Yea, I’m not either. As usual, the injury report is giving us cause for concern and we may not know until we are a plate full of mashed potatoes into the day if Alvin Kamara is playing or not. Last week, Jalen Hurts ran all over the Saints, racking up 69 yards and three touchdowns. This week, the Saints have to deal with another quarterback who can run, but Josh Allen is actually a good passer too. The Bills have looked really bad in two of their last three games. I think they bounce back here and stop the Saints' offense. I’m playing the Bills to cover this -4.5 spread.
