OutKick's Pick 'Em For Masters 2024: 'The Augusta Golf Challenge'

For every PGA TOUR event this season, OutKick is running a FREE-TO-PLAY Pick ‘Em Challenge for a chance to win a $100 gift card from Amazon. The best part about this challenge is how simple and fast it is to enter. All you need to do is answer a few questions, sit back, and watch golf. This week’s Pick ‘Em Challenge is for golf’s 1st official major, The Masters 2024 at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia.

Pick 3 Top-10 Finishers: Scottie Scheffler, Wyndham Clark, Hideki Matsuyama

These are three of the top four golfers in my 32-round model at Bet The Number with Scheffler being 1st, Clark being 2nd, and Matsuyama coming in at 3rd. They just so happen to be the top three golfers in the PGA TOUR's 2024 FedExCup Playoff standings as well.

Scottie won back-to-back "signature events": Arnold Palmer Invitational and THE PLAYERS Championship. Clark finished 2nd behind Scheffler in those tournaments and won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, another "signature event". Matsuyama won the Genesis Invitational (a "signature event") and finished T12 at the Arnold Palmer and T6 at THE PLAYERS.

Furthermore, Augusta is the most predictive course on TOUR. With that in mind, Scottie won the 2022 Masters and Hideki put the green jacket on Scheffler since Matsuyama won the 2021 Masters. Granted, this is Clark's 1st Masters, but his game is perfect for Augusta. Wyndham is a "flusher" with a sneaky good short-game, and tears up Par 5s.

Jon Rahm's Round 1 Score: Over 69.5

Since I'm fading Rahm at the 2024 Masters in a head-to-head matchup vs. Xander Schaufffele, I might as well take Jon here to shoot 70 or higher in the 1st round. There's a possibility Rahm cracks under the added pressure of answering questions about his LIV Tour defection and his media responsibilities as the reigning Masters champion.

Tournament Head-to-Head: Rory McIlroy vs. Brooks Koepka

I almost led my 2024 Masters betting card off with Rory at +110 odds because I think he contends this weekend. Last year, McIlroy was dealing with a lot of off-the-course drama due to the whole LIV-PGA fiasco. That's cooled down for Rory this year and he can focus on completing his career grand slam at Augusta.

Which round will have a hole-in-one? No hole-in-one during the tourney

There have been only 34 holes-in-one in the previous 87 Masters tournaments and there wasn't a hole-in-one last year. That said, DraftKings says the "Yes" to a hole-in-one has -240 odds while the "No" is the underdog with +165 odds. However, I'd rather bet against human achievement than on it. Especially when you consider that hitting a hole-in-one is one of the hardest things to do in sports.

The winner will score a 70 (-2) in the final round

As far as I know, there is no scientific way of answering this question. I eye-balled the last five Masters champions and 70 looked like the average final-round score. But, unlike the past two years, I think we have drama at the Masters on Sunday and someone will have to "go low" to win the green jacket. It's just a hunch so don't quote me on that.
