Outkick Bets: NFL Plays to Win
I have bought in, perhaps a little too late for some, on Arizona, but still tentatively. Their offense is prolific and bombastically entertaining to watch but their defense has always and will until otherwise proven, worry me as a bettor. DeAndre Hopkins is nursing a rib and as of this posting is a game-time decision. If healthy, I love this spread against a woeful franchise, coach and team. If not healthy, I wouldn’t marry it, but I’m still taking that spread to a nice dinner.
Yes, both these teams have gone over this number once this season but it doesn’t mean either of them are any good on offense. Take the Falcons @ Tampa last week, the Bucs clearly were waiting for a matchup with the Rams this week and eventually stole Matt Ryan’s lunch money with a couple of pick-sixes. As for the Giants against Washington, I’m not even about to pretend that game made any sense and neither should you. It was filthy drunk. I’m staring at two inept offenses that will struggle to score points on Sunday.
We are about to start finding out which Jameis Winston is the real deal this weekend. He completed what can only be described as “opposite day” performances in his first two games. He also is coming off a game where he won’t be the center of attention for a lot of the football world. That’s good news for us. New England has a Tom Brady matchup on the horizon and all week in Boston/Foxboro the discussion has barely mentioned the game happening this week. One of these two teams is going to get a little loose on the scoreboard and I don’t think it’s the Patriots. This is a low number and I expect it to comfortably cover.
