Outkick Bets: Did Someone Say MACtion?
Treasure it while it lasts because we are officially halfway through the MACtion midweek madness that has brightened our weeks. In the meantime, there is still plenty of money to be made and I am leaning hard to four different picks on tonight’s three games. I expect a lot of fun tonight so let’s see what’s up.
Look at what’s going on here: Toledo cannot stop scoring! They’ve extended their OVER streak from one game to two and last week they almost crossed the over in the first half. MACtion has been good to us OVER lovers, going 8-3 in the past two weeks of early week action and the three UNDERS have all been within two points, meaning we sweat or we cruise. I like the total in this game but I’m really digging on Toledo at the -7 too. Toledo’s strength has been their defense and it’s the reason they are one win away from a bowl. Ohio played an excellent game a week ago against Eastern Michigan and sported the upset but I don’t see that recurring two weeks in a row. Gimme the Rockets and the over.
Western Michigan -5.5 @ Eastern Michigan
Hey, speaking of Eastern Michigan, here we are. EMU had run a streak of three straight OVERS until last week missing the number by a point-and-a-half. Despite that, they are still hanging in at 81st in points allowed per game. As alluded, Eastern got bullied at home by a Ohio team that ran for 265 yards against them. Western Michigan is one of the better running teams in the land tallying 195 yards per contest. I expect similar intentions because EMU’s rush defense was not an aberration last week. The Eagles allow 195 per game. I expect Western Michigan to run away eventually and cover the 5.5.
Bowling Green @ Miami (OH), OVER 51.5
WHAT ARE WE DOING HERE? 51.5? OVER BABY! A few notes though:
1) the OVERS have gone in Bowling Green’s last 5 games,
2) the OVERS have cashed in 3 of the last 4 Miami (OH) games too,
3) the Falcons are 7-3 ATS which means they are in the vast majority of their games late and let me tell you, it’s not because of their stellar defense
4) Bowing Green may only be averaging 22.9 points per game, but in their last four the average is 30.8.
The OVER especially in the low 50s, is a no-brained play here.
