Outkick Bets: DeMar DeRozan Points Bet
The title says it all. I am heading my way back to the more-than-surging Chicago Bulls. They host the Pistons. They are big favorites and look relatively healthy but for me, we are going to test the player prop waters tonight.
DeMar DeRozan is continuing to make a case for MVP. He won't win, but he's been phenomenal this season. Tonight, his point total is 25.5. I like the under. I've lost on this guy before if you remember watching on Outkick Bets: the Show but if you recall, it was because the load he had to carry was doubled when the entire city contracted COVID. We are in much better shape this evening.
The Pistons are in a race for the worst-record with Orlando and they need to make up ground. We want to watch for the magic number of 20. If DeMar attempts fewer than 20 field goals in a game, he scores fewer than 25.5 points in 12 of the 17 times it's happened. Also, watch that scoreboard. If the Bulls get up big, expect a couple fewer minutes from DeRozan. DeMar is averaging two fewer points at home than on the road (25.1 to 27.6). He's averaging 26.4 per game but just 21.6 against division opponents (like the Pistons) and against those Detroit not-so-bad boys, he's only averaging 19.0 in their two meetings. We line up for a slight sweat because he can get hot, but this should work out our way.
