Odds For Best Record in NFL
There comes a point every summer when, in your head, you declare it's football season. (That's if your football obsession isn't year-round, of course.) And, for sports bettors, that time is now.
FanDuel SportsBook released odds for each NFL team's chances of finishing the season with the best record. To place your bets, use this link.
First, while not tremendous value, the Bucs at +600 is worth a look. A strong look.
Tampa was clearly the best team in the NFL in the playoffs. And since everyone wants to stay with Tom Brady, the Bucs are set to be the first team since 1994, when the salary cap era began, to bring back all 22 starters from their Super Bowl victory.
What's more, the Bucs have the easiest upcoming schedule in the NFL. Hmm...
I expect the Bucs to have the best record in the NFC. Who else even poses a threat?
If any team ends up with more regular-season wins than the Bucs, it'll come from the AFC.
Stay away from Kansas City, though. I'm worried about the "rebuilt" offensive line, the loss of Sammy Watkins with no adequate replacement, and the history of teams that go to back-to-back Super Bowls.
The Chiefs also have to deal with the much-improved Chargers, a talented Broncos roster, and a promising Raiders squad.
And while the Bills' roster is phenomenal -- the Patriots and Dolphins are coming. So it's not even certain the Bills win the AFC East.
By contrast, the Steelers are frauds, the Browns are unreliable, and the Bengals aren't very good. For that, the Ravens are grateful.
In addition, Sammy Watkins will bolster the Ravens' offense to go along with their elite defense. I believe in John Harbaugh and his staff. This run-game is next-level. I'm taking the Ravens in the AFC.
So, that leaves me with the Bucs and Ravens—what a problem to have.
Tampa is the better team but comes with less betting value. We Americans all desire bang for our buck. And Super Bowl hangovers are usually real.
I may regret it come evening, but I'm betting on Lamar Jackson's team over Tom Brady's. And you should too.
