NBA SGP for Knicks-Celtics - January 6, 2022

The fine folks at FanDuel Sportsbook are offering us a nice opportunity to make some cash risk-free. Tonight, we can choose a game on TNT and place a risk-free $10 Same Game Parlay bet. I’m looking at the Knicks and Celtics to try and make a little cash. The other day, we did a player prop parlay that was 10:1 and missed only by one leg. The other three were no sweat. Let’s see what we can do tonight.

I’m going to start this off with Jaylen Brown. He has arguably been the best player for the Celtics this season in what has been a mostly disappointing year for the men in green. One thing that has been very consistent, with their inconsistent style of play is that Brown is shooting a ton of threes each game. He averages almost nine attempts a game this year. Tonight, he has to make just three of them to cash the first leg of our parlay. That seems reasonable given that he hit five and eight against the Knicks in his last two contests against them this year. He’s gone over this in his last five games against the Knicks.

I think the Knicks win this game. The Celtics have not looked great this year, and the Knicks haven’t either. The home team has won both games in this matchup this season. The Knicks didn’t play last night, unlike their counterparts who are now playing in a back-to-back after a tough contest last night. This is their third game in four nights as well. The Knicks are hurting for players, and the Celtics are too, but since this is risk-free, I’ll take the plus money to lean on the Knicks.

Robert Williams for the Celtics has been a solid player, but tonight, he should struggle to get rebounds against the athletic Mitchell Robinson. In the two matchups against the Knicks, Williams grabbed 10 rebounds and 8 rebounds in the games. The 10 rebounds came when he played 45 minutes. I think this will be a tight one, but the under is the way to play it.

The last play to add to this one is Evan Fournier. He has not been consistent with his three-point shot whatsoever, but he is worth taking a look at for a play. Against the Celtics this year, he has been good from behind the arc and while Brown can be a good defender, he also isn’t a lockdown type. If Fournier can get some good screens, he might be able to come off and hit three of these himself. He went 6-13 in his first matchup this season with the Celtics, and 4-10 the next time. Asking him to hit three doesn’t seem to be that tall of a task.
