Another day, another 2-1 record. The Diamondbacks won for the first time in 18 games, so maybe we can get a clean sweep today. Hey, anything is possible! Let’s turn this triple play.

Dodgers vs. Padres

This Dodgers team is full of hitters, but they aren't so good against lefties. The team average is just .224 against lefties, compared to .251 against right-handed pitchers. Blake Snell has not been the Blake Snell of the World Series last year. In fact, this is arguably the worst season of his career so far. Snell has faced the Dodgers twice this season, giving up two runs in five innings in both starts. On the other side, Kershaw also hasn’t been as strong this year as he has been in years past. He still is good though, don’t get me wrong. In two starts against the Padres, he is 1-1 with one game giving up no runs and one giving up three. I’m taking the home team in this one. Play the Padres to win on the moneyline at -106.

White Sox vs. Pirates

The White Sox are 14 games above .500, but somehow they are under .500 on the road. Luckily, they are playing the Pirates so they should have a chance to improve on that record. Lucas Giolito goes for the White Sox, and in 27 at-bats against him, the Pirates are hitting .076. While this is a small sample size, it at least gives us some insight into how hitters do against him. His season has been pretty rough, especially considering how good he can be, but he has been decent at night, throwing a 2.97 ERA and giving up only a third of his home runs. Tyler Anderson, the starter for the Pirates, has been better at home, but during night games, his ERA is 5.56. The White Sox are playing poorly right now, but there should be runs scored in this game. I’m going to take the White Sox hitters over the Pirates in a double result of White Sox and over 7.5 runs at +185.

Giants vs. Angels

The Angels are actually pretty good against the Giants pitcher Anthony DeSclafani, hitting .337 in limited appearances. The Giants are hitting only .208 against Angels starter Andrew Heaney. The total has already gone up from 8.5 to 9 in this one, so that doesn’t have as much appeal to me. Both teams are playing pretty well, but I’m on the Angels for this one. I’m seeing most tickets on the Giants, but about 60% of money coming in is on the Angels. Take them at -126.
