Last night was a good day on the diamond, we won a parlay, and a plus money first five innings bet in addition to hitting the over in the Red Sox/Blue Jays game. For those of us nursing some hangovers today, I’m going to focus on the night games. 

Astros vs. Twins

Luis Garcia for the Astros has been very strong this year, and he continues to start getting more and more innings under his belt. He hasn’t given up more than three runs in a start yet this year. The Twins hitters also haven’t seen him which should give him an advantage at least the first time through the lineup. Jose Berrios has not been terrible, but he has been worse at home than on the road with an ERA that is almost a full two runs higher at home. The Astros are hitting .319 as a team against him. I’m going to play the Astros for the full game at -112 on the moneyline. I also will put a little bit on the double result of Astros winning through 5 innings and the full game at +165. 

Cardinals vs. Cubs

It used to be easy to just bet on Kyle Hendricks pitching at home, especially with the under. The past two seasons have not been as consistent as they used to be. He also has been susceptible to the home run this season, giving up 17 already. Hendricks has a 7.97 ERA at night this year. On the other side, John Gant has held Cubs hitters to .147 average in 56 at-bats. I’m playing Cardinals in the first five innings at +152. 

Rangers vs Dodgers

Kolby Allard is going into his third start of the season, but he gets no breaks as he faces one of the best teams in baseball in the Dodgers. The wind will slightly be blowing out to center today. Bauer goes for the Dodgers and he has a 1.69 home ERA. I think the Dodgers should win this game with ease. Take the run line at -138.
