We went a solid 2-1 yesterday with the lone loss being the Nationals vs. Padres – and that was close to a +420 winner with them coming back from eight runs down and getting to an 8-7 score after five innings. Either way, let’s turn the triple play today and get a nice sweep.

White Sox vs. Orioles

The White Sox are a far superior team on paper and in reality, but they really only go as far as their pitching. Dallas Keuchel is going for the White Sox and has been bad on the road. His away starts have him with a 5.35 ERA and in his only start against Baltimore this year, he gave up four runs in five innings. The Orioles starter, Jorge Lopez, has given up four or more runs in four of his last five starts. Lopez also has allowed the White Sox to hit .390 against him in 43 at-bats. I’m going to play the over 5.5 runs in the first half of the game. I don’t know that they get to the total of 10 runs for the game, but the starters should allow six runs between them.

Braves vs. Marlins

Charlie Morton has been a good addition to the Braves rotation. He’s throwing 3.41 ERA baseball on the road but has been rough against the Marlins. He’s given up four or more runs in each of the three starts against the fish. Zach Thompson has been pretty impressive in his few starts and has faced the Braves twice giving up three runs in 11 innings. Thompson has been very strong at home with a 0.82 ERA. I’m backing the Marlins today at basically even money (+102).

Reds vs. Brewers

The Reds have some very good hitters on their team. They do struggle against left-handed pitching though, batting just .224 (compared to .257 against righties). Tonight they face Brewer left-hander, Eric Lauer. Lauer has been hittable at home and at night, but he has put together back-to-back good starts. He has a .242 batting average against him from Reds hitters. Wade Miley for the Reds has been hit harder - .293. Overall though, he is having a nice campaign. Money has been pouring in on the Brewers and I agree with the movement. It makes sense to me so let's the Brew Crew at -120.
