Jazz Are The Safe Bet After News About Clippers' Kawhi Leonard
Well, it appears the Clippers-Jazz series has taken another turn. In case you haven't heard the news, Clippers star forward Kawhi Leonard is out indefinitely with a knee injury, perhaps a major one at that.
At the very least, Leonard will miss the remainder of this series, per multiple reports. As the series' best player ... well, Leonard missing time may indeed change the course of the outcome. Right now, things are knotted at 2-all with Game 5 slated for Wednesday night at Utah.
The Jazz had already won both games at home, even with Leonard healthy and playing. They have an injury issue of their own, with point guard Mike Conley Jr. set to miss his fifth straight game with a hamstring issue. But as valuable as Conley is, he's no Leonard.
Translation: Advantage Jazz.
So go ahead and take Utah and the -7.5. They should win by more than that, given the fact they're at home, the crowd is always proud and extremely loud, and the Clippers will be deflated after the Leonard news.
Leonard is also the Clippers' best defender, meaning the Jazz are likely to put up bushels of baskets to help push Game 5 beyond the over-under of 220.5.
