The PGA returns to Monterey Peninsula for this week's AT&T Pebble Beach. Lacking the usual "Pro-Am" portion of the event due to COVID restrictions, this year will see a full field of 156 players tee off. Though a weakened field with World No. 1 Dustin Johnson withdrawing on Monday, we still have quite a few of the PGA's top names teeing off: Rickie Fowler, Jordan Spieth, Daniel Berger, Paul Casey, Patrick Cantlay, Jason Day, Phil Mickelson, and 2020 defending champion Nick Taylor.

For me, this tournament is all about Jordan Spieth. In addition to being the 2017 champion at this event, Spieth is coming off a top 4 finish at last week's Waste Management Open, his best finish since 2019. Has Spieth finally gotten his confidence back or was last week just an aberration in an otherwise disastrous two seasons? Only time will tell here, but he is definitely one of the golfers I will be backing. You can currently find him at +2300 at FanDuel Sportsbook. Additionally, this is also a spot where I will take Spieth as first round leader, which should have Jordan at around +3500 when they come out.

Another golfer to watch this week is Jason Day. Though Jason missed the cut in his last two tournaments, he should be fully rested for this week. Day has finished in the top 6 at Pebble Beach six times, including a fourth place in 2020. His continued success here, plus lackluster star power in the field leads me to believe that 2021 could finally be his year. You can pick Day up at +2100 to win at FanDuel Sportsbook

One longshot I like this week is Phil Mickelson. A five-time champion at this event, Mickelson finished 2nd in 2020 and could take advantage of one of the shortest courses on tour, as no one knows this course like he does. It is not even a question for me that Phil is worth a bet at +4700, especially given his history at the course.

Other bets I like for this week;

Enjoy the tournament. We have the Genesis Invite next week, which should be a huge one before the PGA begins their east coast swing!
