2024 NCAA Women's Championship Opening Odds: Iowa Vs. South Carolina

The "Caitlin Clark Farewell Tour" for her college basketball career has one more show. Clark helped her Iowa Hawkeyes punch their ticket to the 2024 NCAA Women's National Championship. Iowa will face the South Carolina Gamecocks Sunday, April 7th at 3 p.m. ET at the Rocket Mortgage in Cleveland, Ohio. Sportsbooks started taking bets on the women's national title game when the final buzzer sounded for Iowa's win over the UConn Huskies in the Final Four Friday.

The Hawkeyes survived a bad shooting night from Clark to narrowly beat the Huskies 71-69. Clark led Iowa in rebounds (9) and assists (7), but only shot 7-for-18 from the field while scoring 21 points. Hawkeyes sophomore forward Hannah Stuelke stepped up and scored a team-high 23 points. But, besides Clark's stat line, the story of the game was the bogus offensive foul called on the Huskies with seconds remaining.

South Carolina's Final Four win was far less controversial and a lot less exciting. The Gamecocks beat the brakes off of the 3-seed NC State Wolfpack 78-59 Friday. While Clark is the biggest story in women's college hoops, South Carolina can cement its legacy as an all-time team in the sport. The Gamecocks are 37-0 entering the national championship and head coach Dawn Staley is trying to win her 3rd national title with the program.

The rematch between Iowa and the LSU Tigers in the Elite Eight Monday was the most bet on women's college basketball game ever. Will the Iowa-South Carolina surpass it? With Clark having a chance to cap off one of the greatest college careers ever, the women's national championship will get a ton of attention from sports bettors.
