Arkansas’ Nathan Jax brought down Alabama star wide receiver Devonta Smith and the hit was dirty as can be. Jax is caught red-handed doing what’s known as an “alligator roll”, which is a big no-no in football. Something needs to be done about these plays in professional and amateur sports, so if the NCAA really wants to put an end to these type of plays, they should suspend Nathan Jax indefintely.

The play was over, as Devonta Smith was clearly on the ground. There’s no explanation that can be given by that Arkansas coaching staff or Nathan Jax to make this play necessary. He might be a nice kid and simply made a mistake here, but the NCAA needs to make an example of these type of hits. They’re dangerous and have no place in sports. If they suspend Nathan Jax, players might think twice before altering games by hurting their opponents.
Alabama is up 45-3 with a couple ticks left in the fourth quarter and we’ll have to wait and see what’s said post-game. Have to imagine Nick Saban won’t be too happy when he sees the play.
Also suspend any coach that’s found to be teaching or requesting these dirty tactics. There is no place in sports (other than fighting) to intentionally hurt your opponent…
Easy fix
Horse Collar or Alligator Tackle – Head Coach pays $50,000 fine
won’t happen more than once
Observed this cheap ass move yesterday while watching the game (big Bama fan). Really pissed me off. Agreed, the player should be suspended for a game.
