It looks like we might not be out of the woods yet as far as nationwide lockdowns are concerned. On Wednesday, one of Vice President Joe Biden’s new coronavirus task force doctors floated the idea of closing up shop again for 4-6 weeks.
Dr. Michael Osterholm was discussing the COVID-19 pandemic in an interview with Yahoo Finance when he made a statement about another shutdown.
“We could pay for a package right now to cover all of the lost wages for individual workers or losses from small companies to medium size companies,” Osterholm said. “If we did that, then we could lockdown for 4 to 6 weeks.”

This news isn’t going to be popular, but it should have been expected. President Donald Trump mentioned on multiple occasions that Biden’s team would push for more shutdowns, and it looks like he was right.
“This election is a choice between a Trump boom and a Biden lockdown,” Trump said while holding a rally in Arizona in the days leading up to Nov. 3.
Spikes in coronavirus cases have been taking place all over the country in recent weeks. In fact, several prominent college football games have been canceled or postponed as a result of new cases, contact tracing and quarantine protocols.

Well, since “sanctuary cities” showed us that we could defy federal law and not enforce it, or assist with the enforcement of it, the chickens are going to come home to roost. Just like how our local sheriff (western suburb of Houston) won’t enforce our “county judge’s” edicts on masks, etc., I fully expect to get a wave from the local PD, rather than a ticket should this horseshit come to pass. Even the liberal police chief of Houston (by way of Austin) immediately refused to enforce the Harris County “Judge’s” orders on masks back in April.

Let’s play along and believe that Biden innocently wants to get the cases back under control. 4-6 weeks is very aggressive for what they want to do. If you look at the first nationwide cases peak in April, it took 10 weeks for the country to re-open. If you look at the nationwide cases peak in July, it took 8 weeks to bottom out before more of the country was opened. Then, it has taken 8 weeks for the current trend to get where it is at right now. And, we probably aren’t even at the peak yet. 10-12 weeks is the minimum.
And this is why it’s called the China virus.
We’re in a spiritual battle for the soul of the nation, fellas.
This will end up like the mask mandate in KY.

Right. Every week we do this I came up with the following math. Assume 50% of workers get covered by a new benefit at the average US wage. I figure that would be $70b a week…..more benefit money that we cannot afford as a country. Six weeks and you are well on your way to half a trillion of additional debt. Never mind businesses permanently closed. Never mind the additional emotional and physical toll on people. I applied for temporary relief from the NCDES for lost hours back in April. It took them 5 months to approve my application, and here it is 7 months later I’ve not yet received a dime from them (even though their site says they owe me $4000 and change).
Like most things with the liberals, this idea of paying everyone to do a staycation for 4 to 6 weeks sounds great, but where the liberals suck is at accomplishing things in real life (hence why most of them study liberal arts in college and/or work for the government).
So my question to Dr. Douche bag would be, will I get the $4000 they already owe me before you start paying out this new stuff?
The Wife and I are heading to Southeast FL – from MI and its tyrannical Governor – for a few months and looking for a home to buy.. No reason to stay in MI. Sounds like many of you already made the smart choice to leave a Dem State. It’s odd no one wants to talk about how Dems destroyed (I’ll speak for my State of MI/Detroit) for 40+ years. I’ll feel bad from afar.
I keep hearing lawyers say it’s unconstitutional to have a national mask mandate or shutdown, and that it must be decided by each governor. I hope that’s the case, even though our Texas governor caved to the media Karens and ordered a mask mandate. At least we aren’t shutdown; bars, restaurants are gyms are open.
