Where does AOC escape to for a New Year’s Eve vacation? None other than Florida and Miami Beach where the U.S. rep. was spotted Thursday enjoying a cocktail with an unidentified companion outside Doraku Sushi and Izakaya, a 3.5 star Yelp hotspot.
It didn’t take long for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ social media team to send a message to AOC about her visit.
“We hope you’re enjoying a taste of freedom here in the Sunshine State thanks to @RonDeSantisFL’s leadership,” Team DeSantis tweeted.
“P.S. We recommend the Rock Shrimp Roll and the Aoki Tai the next time you decide to dine in Miami. Cheers!”
While it hasn’t been confirmed, the man with AOC in Miami Beach appears to be her boyfriend Riley Roberts, who has been dating her since before she joined Congress.
Her Florida trip comes as New York keeps smashing daily COVID case records, including 74,000 confirmed cases on Thursday while hospitalizations rose by 1,000 on the same day. The typically chatty Congresswoman has been silent about her big Florida trip.
