'View' Star Sunny Hostin, Who Has Demanded Reparations, Learns Her Ancestors Owned Slaves

Sunny Hostin, well known far left progressive political commentator and host of The View, is descended from slave owners.

According to a revelation on a PBS show on exploring the ancestry of prominent individuals, Hostin's family came from Spain, where they were known for holding slaves from Africa. That's not what you want to hear!

That must have come as a bit of an unpleasant surprise for Hostin, considering she'd frequently demanded reparations for slavery from the United States and the United Kingdom. Whoops! Hostin was asked about her feelings after learning that she should have to pay herself reparations, and unsurprisingly, deflected.

"So how are you feeling," the host asked. She responded, "I think it's actually pretty interesting that my husband and I have shared roots, so I do appreciate that." But when it came to addressing the fact that she descended from slaveholders, all she had to say was "I guess it's a fact of life that this is how some people made their living, on the backs of others."

Well that's a dramatically different tune than calling for reparations!

Sunny Hostin Exemplifies The Rot Of Progressive Ideology

When discussing reparations, she railed against the fact that the British Empire "was built on the backs of black and brown people," and that she "wore a crown with pillaged stones from India and Africa." She also demanded that King Charles "provide reparations to all of those colonies."

But when it comes to her own family history, it's just a "fact of life" that slavery existed.

Unfortunately, and tragically, it is a "fact of life" that slavery existed, and in some parts of the world still exists today. With the benefit of hindsight and modern perspectives, it's rightly viewed today as an abhorrent, inexcusable historical embarrassment. But it was, again unfortunately, an extremely commonplace practice through all of human history until the 19th century. Nearly every racial or ethnic group on earth would have a claim to reparations based on historical slavery.

Hostin though, is part of the modern progressive set whose chief goal is to demonize and undermine the West, usually represented by the U.S. and UK. And it's telling, and informative, that her reaction to hearing that her perspectives were remarkably hypocritical was a mumbled understatement.
