US Gen. McKenzie Confirms Drone Strike Was A Failure After Killing 10 Civilians, 7 Children

U.S. Marine Corps Gen. Kenneth McKenzie delivered a public apology after confirming that a U.S. drone strike in Kabul was a total failure by domestic intelligence. The authorized strike claimed the life of 10 civilians, including a U.S. aid worker and seven children.

Gen. McKenzie found it impossible to mask the Biden administration's latest flop before an international audience and came clean on the Aug. 28 strike.

He announced on Friday, "As many as 10 civilians, including up to 7 children, were tragically killed in that strike. Moreover, we now assess that it is unlikely that the vehicle and those who died were associated with ISIS-K.

“I’m here today to set the record straight and acknowledge our mistakes."

This became the second U-turn in rhetoric for McKenzie: First taking back his comments on calling the Kabul exit a "success," to now admitting the volatile and incompetent operations of the U.S. Central Command.

The air strike was the immediate response from Biden directed at terrorist forces responsible for the loss of 13 U.S. servicemembers at the Hamid Kurzai International Airport.

Another checkpoint in the White House's botched Afghanistan strategy, the U.S.' response to ISIS-K and the new Taliban regime in Afghanistan continually fails in inciting any hope or confidence from international allies. And the American people.

Washington Post Columnist Josh Rogin pointed out that Gen. Mark Milley previously assessed the intelligence behind the air strike and called it "a righteous strike."
