The Daily Tar Heel Editorial Board Lets F-Bomb Headline Fly (Update)

The Daily Tar Heel newspaper at the University of North Carolina is going to get the most attention the paper has ever had from one of its editorial board offerings and they can thank a headline f-bomb you don't see very often in print -- on purpose.

“We’re only a week into the semester and four COVID-19 clusters have already surfaced on and around campus,” the editorial starts.

The online version of the editorial doesn't include the same headline, but a sub-head reads: "clusterf--k (n) : a complex and utterly disordered and mismanaged situation"

Merriam-Webster does list clusterf--k under its "vulgar slang" offerings. As for why I have to censor the word here, it's because Google will be a pain in the ass and send the home office all sorts of email warnings about the use of language in Google search engines. I know, I know...#DBAP. Just following the rules around here.

Anyway, dig into the editorial and let me know what you think.

Update:UNC announced it will shift to online learning starting Wednesday. "After a spate of COVID-19 infection clusters during the first week of classes, the University will shift all undergraduate instruction to remote learning Wednesday and continue efforts to greatly reduce residence hall occupancy."
