Kyler Murray, a four star quarterback from Texas who is one of the prized signal callers of the 2015 signing calls, is presently deciding between Texas A&M, where he committed in May, and Texas, who is making a late push for his services. This afternoon the battle for Murray spilled over on Twitter between the Texas Rivals writer, Geoff Ketchum, and TexAgs lead writer Billy Liucci. (Full disclosure, Liucci's a friend and I enjoy going out drinking with him, I've never met Ketchum). Today Ketchum invited Liucci on his radio show, Liucci declined, and the two sides proceeded to wage the largest Texas vs. Texas A&M battle since the Aggies joined the SEC.
All of this began with predictions about where Murray would be attending school. Ketchum believse Murray will attend Texas, Liucci believes Murray will attend A&M.
Ketchum attacked Liucci for his lack of objectivity, accused him of going out drinking with players, and for being an old guy who still hangs out with college girls. (Being an old guy accused of hanging out with college girls may be the greatest insult you could ever give a single guy, by the way.). Personally, I just assume that all pay site writers are fans of the teams they cover since their audience is made up entirely of fans who pay for their services. Anyway, Ketchum sent a series of Twitter questions to Liucci such as this one.
Liucci returned fire,
This nearly became the Texas version of meet me in Temecula.
It's nine days until signing day and it needs to get here soon, before every college football fan goes crazy.
