Should The College Football Playoff Dates Be Moved To Accommodate Big Ten? Dabo Weighs In

Should the College Football Playoff be pushed into February to accommodate a late start from the Big Ten and possibly the Pac-12? "No. No, no ... we wouldn't want to push the season into February and all that stuff. We're going to push forward," Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney said during a Thursday press conference.

The College Football Playoff Final Four is still scheduled for January 1, 2021 with the Rose Bowl and Sugar Bowl taking place on New Year's Day. The national championship game is scheduled for January 11 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

The Big Ten ended the week very quietly with no word of a re-vote taking place even though one was expected Friday or today. October 10 is still the expected date of return for the conference.

Meanwhile, the rest of college football rolls on with the AAC starting games today and the ACC kicks off next weekend with Clemson at Wake Forest. The SEC starts September 26 with Alabama traveling to Missouri.

It's going to look and feel different when the big boys get back out on the field, but it's going to happen and Dabo's ready.

"Different has become our normal. Still going to have black-eyed peas on game day, I can tell you that," he told the media. "As I told them, this will be the most-watched season in the history of college football. This pandemic can be either a competitive advantage or competitive disadvantage depending on what you're made of, what your mindset is. I know they're ready."
