OKTC Joining Fox Sports College Football Television Coverage

A couple of weeks ago we announced that Outkick the Coverage and FoxSports.com were entering into a partnership.

At the time I said there would be more details forthcoming.

Here are some of those details -- I'll be joining Fox Sports 1's college football pregame show which will air from 10-12 eastern, 9-11 central, and 7-9 pacific each Saturday morning during the college football season.

Yep, we're going head-to-head with ESPN College Gameday. 

After our pregame show, FS1 will air triple and quadruple headers of college football games. As if that wasn't enough for college football fans, the national Fox network will also air a nighly game of the week in primetime. 

The show will broadcast from Fox's Los Angeles studio so I'll spend all day Saturday out there monitoring and writing about college football games in real-time. I'll also have a role in the post-game show to help put the day's games in context. In addition to these roles I'll be appearing on FS1 shows during the week via satellite.  

So far Erin Andrews and Eddie George are the only two individuals who are announced on the show. I have a very good relationship with both -- particularly Erin who was instrumental in getting me on the show -- and can't wait for the season to get here. 

Next week Fox Sports will also announce three more names to round out our television crew. I think you're going to like all of them. In the meantime, Fox is still finalizing those deals.   

I'm just thrilled to finally be able to write and talk about my new role after several months spent auditioning in LA and ironing out all the contract details. 

Bottom line: We're going to have a really entertaining show that I think will make your Saturday mornings even better than they already are.

My focus on the show will be the SEC games, surprise, along with other big stories that are popping on social media.

I've done NBC Sports Network television for the past two years -- an experience I'm very grateful for -- but this is clearly a big step up in the world of television. As a result I'm going to follow my role model Tony Kornheiser's lead when he took on a big television role and announce in advance that I will be awful. That way expectations are so low, I can't help but exceed them.

FS1 will officially launch on August 17th of this year and it should be included in all your cable packages across the country.

We'll be in 90 million homes, making FS1 the biggest new sports television launch in the history of cable. 

Otherwise nothing changes for me. I'll still be doing 3HL daily from Nashville -- there's a year left on my contract here -- and I'll still be doing my Saturday NBC radio show.

Plus, I'll still be writing OKTC.  

I look forward to becoming the least telegenic man in your living rooms and on your tailgate televisions come this fall.

College football's just six weeks away. 

Just like y'all, I can't wait for it to get here.
