A young fan was the lucky recipient of Novak Djokovic's French Open-winning racket, leading to a touching scene that reminded viewers of the significance of in-person audiences for both athletes and fans alike.

The video captured a young fan who attended the Roland Garros event as part of the 5,000-person, COVID-restricted audience.

After defeating Rafael Nadal on Friday night, Djokovic went 6-7 (6), 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 on Sunday to defeat No. 5 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas — rallying with three consecutive set wins to complete the comeback. Sunday's championship marks the 19th major win of Djokovic's career. Djokovic last won the French Open in 2016.

"There's always two voices inside: There is one telling you that you can't do it, that it's done, it's finished. That voice was pretty strong after that second set,'' commented Djokovic following the second set of Sunday's action. "So I felt that that was a time for me to actually vocalize the other voice and try to suppress the first one that was saying I can't make it. I told myself I can do it. Encouraged myself. I strongly started to repeat that inside of my mind, tried to live it with my entire being.''
