NBA SGP for Suns at Lakers
The NBA has been beaten down by COVID protocols, but this game is one of the few of the night that doesn't have as many question marks about who is playing - at least as of writing this. Let's see if we can get a Same Game Parlay to hit to pay off some of those Christmas gifts.
To start, we are going to take the over on Deandre Ayton's rebounds. With Anthony Davis out, the Lakers actually might be a bit better on the boards because Dwight Howard is back and Deandre Jordan is in there for essentially rebounding only. I think 12 rebounds is reasonable for Ayton, you're talking about three boards per quarter against two players who are talented, but older than he is. He should have more energy to grab the boards against them.
Who will stop Devin Booker? In my opinion, no one except for his head coach, Monty Williams. If Booker plays his typical 30+ minutes, he should fly over his point total tonight. Defensively, the Lakers can be exploited by talented shooting guards. At a total of 23.5 I think he can get over with relative ease. In just 26 minutes the other night, he scored 16 points and took 15 field goal attempts so he should be fine. He also might want to put on a show for his girl Kendal Jenner.
Russell Westbrook hasn't really transformed the Lakers as they've hoped he would. However, he also isn't as bad as everyone is making him out to be. In four of his last five home games, he's had nine or more assists. We will put him over the 7.5 assist total that he's at tonight. Anthony Davis being out also should allow for more points, or at least shot attempts from Westbrook. The biggest concern I have is that Ayton, or Crowder (whoever was going to guard him) won't have to respect AD's replacement around the arc. Either way, I'll take Westbrook over his point total.
One last addition: Chris Paul over 15.5 points. He scored 23 against the Lakers in their first matchup. He is a bit harder to predict than most people on the team because some games he drops 20 and others he takes four shots. I think this game is more likely for him to score than be passive.
