Kentucky Businesses Can Increase To 60 Percent
It's almost 100% party time in Kentucky. But if you can't do 100%, why not 60%?
That's the story in the Bluegrass State, where bars, restaurants and other businesses are now allowed to open to 60% capacity. The decision was made by Gov. Andy Beshear, who cited the downward trend in COVID-19 cases and increasing availability of the vaccine.
Beshear relayed that reported cases in Kentucky have dropped by a whopping 72% in the past seven weeks and that the new positivity rate is now less than 5%.
Kentucky businesses had been open to 50% for the past several weeks. "We're going to be incremental and careful as we move forward," Beshear said.
He said another bump in capacity could be on the way, but it all depends on the current trends continuing and the vaccine supply. For now, 60% will have to do, and 60 is closer to 100 than 50.
