Is Buffalo Ready To Break The Bank For Josh Allen?
Josh Allen proved last season he's got what it takes to be the quarterback for the Buffalo Bills.
He led Buffalo to the AFC Championship Game before falling to the Kansas City Chiefs, but Allen proved that he's a leader of the Bills.
Allen and the Bills have been talking about a contract extension for a while, but for now things are quiet and nothing has been finalized.
Chris Roling of Bleacher Report states that Allen could be one of six players who could hold out for more this summer, though the QB has not said anything about staying away from Bills camp.
“Still, a holdout is realistic because he’s a star quarterback who can afford, over the long-term, the cost of such a move. He’ll also ruin his team’s plans if he’s not in camps,” Roling wrote.
The Bills have no real choice but to pay Allen sooner rather than later. They don't have any sort of backup plan for Allen, so they really have to make sure they make their franchise quarterback happy.
“As was told to me, look, he knows he’s going to get paid eventually, the Bills know he’s going to get paid eventually, so neither side is particularly worried about it,” Chris Fowler of ESPN said.
