Gronk Injury May Be More Serious Than Originally Believed

Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Rob Gronkowski said he is recovering from four cracked ribs, a broken rib and a punctured lung.

OutKick reported on Saturday the Buccaneers star wouldn't be traveling with the team as Tampa Bay heads to Foxborough to face the Patriots after Gronk suffered the injuries during last week's loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

Gronk told Fox Sports' Jay Glazer the extent of the injuries on Sunday.

Gronk suffered the injury during last weekend’s game against the Rams, and after not practicing all week, he was listed as doubtful to play.

Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians kept the door open and said Gronkowski would be a game-time decision, but the veteran TE won’t be suiting up for Sunday's showdown.

Arians also said he is treating Sunday night’s matchup against the Patriots just like any other game, despite it being one of the most-anticipated regular-season games in NFL history.
