Gavin Newsom Gets Bottle of Water Thrown At Him During Trip To Oakland

During a trip to the Bay Area Friday afternoon, California Gov. Gavin Newsom was walking through the streets of Oakland until he and Mayor Libby Schaaf were approached by a homeless man.

The volatile transient, using a water bottle, ran at the group and threw the object in their direction before getting forced to the ground by their security unit.

Reports are uncertain whether the bottle was Dasani, which could extend jail time twofold due to its artificial taste.

CHP officers that tended to the scene released the following statement: “This morning, the Governor was approached by an aggressive individual. Members of the governor’s security detail removed the governor from the situation and the individual was arrested by CHP officers.”

The report also announced that the 54-year-old transient was booked into Santa Rita jail "on suspicion of resisting an executive officer and assaulting a public official.”

When asked about the incident, Newsom laughed it off with a joke as the Democratic governor also failed to receive a question regarding the sharp increase in homelessness throughout California.

As residents continue to worry over the segment of the homeless population that is crazed due to drug abuse and prone to violent behavior, Newsom should consider a form of state-funded boxing programs so Californians can get better at bobbing and weaving.

Newsom's trip to Oakland was part of an invitation from former NFL running back Marshawn Lynch to give an appearance at his pizza shop, Beastmode Barbershop. During his visit, Newsom wore a mask the entire time indoors despite Tuesday's complete lifting of COVID restrictions in California and CDC guidelines for vaccinated Americans.

Lynch, once admired for being defiant to the NFL's stringiest guidelines and mentoring younger athletes, was last seen giving a cringe-worthy interview with Dr. Anthony Fauci.
